Tacoma, here we come!

The building we're in is actually family owned and it's been so comforting to start my business in a location that my husband's family ran their own business in so many years ago. I feel connected to the space in Lakewood in many ways, and while it's sentimental and I think I'll have some tears saying goodbye, it feels like it's time to do that uncomfortable, risky thing: GROW.

I've been meaning to share this news, but life's been hectic in that kind of particular, manic way that only summertime gives us. This fall, September 2026, We'll be moving into a beautiful space in the Broadway plaza area, 1130 Broadway to be exact. We're only a few doors down from the new Wooden City location, in the same building as Fujiya, and surrounded by other vibrant, small businesses doing their thing and doing it well.

This has been months in the making- lots of thoughtful planning and pining have gone into what feels like a monumental decision as a solo small business owner. I cannot tell you how many nights I've stayed up trying to imagine how this change will affect us- and you as well. From parking to ADA accessibility. natural light, security, and the overall vibe, I've done my best to choose a space that feels like a warm hug; a space so alive and comfortable that the $2 parking fee melts away and feels more than worth it.

The point of this move is to bring more value to you, and to our time spent together. I want to grow in a way that feels natural and organic, not rushed or inauthentic.

I can't think of a better corner of Tacoma to be in- with the pretty trees, the abundance of history, theaters, eateries, cafés, and art galleries bringing community and abundance to our diverse and beautiful city. I'm so excited to be a part of the quilt.

I sincerely hope you'll come visit us in our new digs! The long game goal is to host events at least quarterly, to welcome groups to visit and share together in fashion and creativity…and to have some fun!

If you want to drop me a line of encouragement, suggestions for events or ideas, please do! All are welcome and appreciated.

I'll be sharing in real time on Instagram as we get ready to pack up and move forward.

So much gratitude for each and every one of you that have shown Gold Dust love over the last 7 years, I couldn't be here without you. You helped make this happen!

Cheers to more art, love, connection, and slow growth!

What’s Up With Lab-Grown Diamonds?

Clients are always asking what the difference is between lab-grown and natural diamonds, so here’s the rundown!

Q: Are lab-grown diamonds real?

A: Yes! They have essentially the same chemical, physical, and optical properties as a natural diamond, so they are still real diamonds.

Q: Is it safe to buy one online and bring it in to you for setting?

A: When it comes to diamonds, seeing is believing. It’s always better to go to a trusted, local jeweler (like me!) to pick out your stone. Professional jewelers have a wealth of information and knowledge, and can help you choose a stone that fits your vision, and might even show you options and cuts that you’ve never seen before! There are more fakes than we realize, so it’s always better to verify with a trusted professional before buying.

Q: What is the price difference?

A: The difference is so dramatic that I find myself selling primarily lab-grown stones! They are a fraction of the price of natural diamonds. You can reach out for a free phone consultation to discuss pricing in more detail.

Q: Are they really more ethical?

A: Yes and no– often both natural and lab-grown diamonds are difficult to trace, and it is hard to prove where they come from. It’s even harder to find out what labor practices and regulations were used in the production. It’s a tough nut to crack! I source diamonds from two reputable dealers who deal in ethically made diamonds. I know where they were sourced from, and I only handle certified diamonds with laser inscriptions for security.
