Design Consult

This is the first step of the custom design process. Ideally we set up an appointment to meet in person and go over any design ideas you have. I will take a look at any stones or metal you have to use (if applicable) and evaluate the best way to move forward. If you feel more comfortable meeting via zoom or having a phone consult, we can do that too! The only reason you would need to come in at this first stage would be if you have stones or metal to use for your design. I need to weigh, measure and evaluate what to implement into the design. The appointments are typically 30-60 minutes depending on complexity. Once I gather all of the information, I will follow up with you after the appointment via email or text to discuss next steps.

Wax Review

After the design consult and follow up, and once the design concept is determined a CAD rendering + milled wax or hand carved wax will be created for you to review. Whether we go with CAD or hand carved depends on the design style and feel you want for the piece. Once the wax is created, typically within 1-2 weeks (depending on current workload/time of year) I will set an appointment with you to review your CAD and/or wax. In this part of the process certain changes can still be made to the design at no charge and it is your opportunity to see the actual 3D model in person! This step requires you to be in person at the shop, so we can make sure we are both on the same page and ready to move on to the final step!

Production

Finally! This is the 3rd and final step of the custom design process! The custom design process typically takes 3-5 weeks total depending on time of year and communication efficiency between us. For instance, if the wax is ready to view and you are not able to make it in for a month, then of course it will take a bit longer, but 3-5 weeks is the timeframe in which it is possible to finish a project. This part is where the work is on us and you can sit back and relax! We will cast, clean, add finishes and set any stones to create your piece!
